Sonic Legends, which was last shown off at SAGE 2023, is a Sonic fan game with a pretty unique concept for it’s zone themes. It reuses and re-imagines zone themes from previous, now defunct 2D Sonic fan game / rom hack projects. The project started off strong with it’s reveal of Sonic Overture’s ‘Sunrise Gate Zone’ and the inclusion of Feels the Rabbit as a pivotal character in the story. Feels was a beta design for Sonic before they settled on the blue hedgehog we all know and love. The devs recently took to Twitter to reveal another zone from the abandoned Sonic Utopia, ‘Panic City Zone’. It should be available to try in the new demo slated for release this November! It’s great to see some of these unique level concepts get another chance to shine in what seems to be a very professional and high quality project. Although these two zones are the ones we’ve been shown the most, some may have recognized a short sneak peek of the Knuckle’s only ‘Bronze Lake Zone’ from Project: Mettrix (see below).
